ALS Mechatronic appoints new directors to its board as exponential growth continues

6th September 2022: British Award-winning automation engineering company ALS Mechatronic (“ALS”) has made two new appointments to its board of directors, promoting Chris Fitzsimmons to services director and Daniel L’estrange to engineering director. They join founder and managing director Andrew Steward and executive director, Laura Steward, in leading the company in the next phase of its growth. These appointments recognise the significant contributions made by Fitzsimmons (16 years tenure) and L’estrange (6 years tenure), and despite the ongoing supply chain issues as a result of the pandemic, the company continuing in its steep upward growth trajectory.

ALS Mechatronic was set up in 2002 and with its team of 32, specialises in the design, build and installation of bespoke factory automation systems, control systems, container handling machinery, vision inspection systems and robotics; typically automating with machinery and software, repeatable labour-intensive manufacturing processes.

The appointments follow on from several successes in recent years including a Queen’s Award for Enterprise for outstanding short-term growth in international markets, ALS’ founder winning Gloucestershire’s Entrepreneur of the Year 2021 (SoGlos Business Awards), and the opening of its first overseas office (in the USA). As of April 2022, the company’s order book was already at its total revenue for 2021 and by the end of its current financial year end, expects to more than double its 2021 revenue.

Andrew Steward, founder and managing director for ALS Mechatronic said: “It’s an exciting time to be part of this business, but to remain successful, as we transition to a larger organisation and ensure we deliver consistent engineering excellence for our customers, we recognise the need to have a strong and robust senior leadership team in place. Both Chris and Dan are consummate engineers who bring their own unique skills and qualities to the table.  They are unanimously respected by the whole team, so their appointments make perfect sense.
